the orchid and the wasp

the orchid and the wasp is a project space by curator Maud Oonk initiated in 2015. She instigates exhibitions, encouraging artists to experiment with new ways of presenting by focusing on their making process. Throughout 2019, she’ll be hosting a series of projects under the theme of #wheredoyoucomefrom, working with artists from different countries living in the Netherlands. “What if we ask ‘where do you come from’ to a work of art?”

The name ‘the orchid and the wasp’ is taken from the biological concept of mutualism, in which two different species interact together to form a multiplicity (i.e. a unity that is multiple in itself).
