The house called “Posada del Corregidor” was built in the middle of the eighteenth century, at the corner of the alley of Las Ramadas, now calle Esmeralda.
The house became famous when it opened to the public as “The Inn of the Corregidor”, a center of bohemian life in Santiago, especially in the 1930s and 1940s. With bar and ballroom, selling short drinks and wine with oranges, according to Many was the best place in Santiago to wait for the sunrise.In 1985, the Labor Bank, today Santander, opened it, by agreement with the I.
