Phoenix Athens is a nonprofit gallery and residency space in Athens, Greece that was started in November 2017. The project is guided by the belief that creatives have the power to trigger progressive changes and transform societies.
The Residency program, Villa Exarcheia features three to eight-week residencies to international students and practitioners in art and design who wish to produce and exhibit work that is inspired or informed by Greek culture and society. The two gallery spaces of Phoenix Athens are located at the foot of Lycabettus and offer the public with rotating exhibitions of work made by both locals as well as international artists in residence. These spaces may also used for workshops, performances and presentations. This gives visiting creatives the opportunity to share their ideas and network with members of the creative community in Athens.
