The Çanakkale Biennial Initiative (CABININ), which has been conducting international contemporary art activities since 2008 with its civil solidarity and production network, has given Çanakkale a new and alternative art space: MAHAL opened its doors on 2 November 2013.
CABININ organizes national and international events based on social benefit and responsibility as a platform of thought and action on art, culture and has been carrying out these activities at MAHAL since November 2013. This old oak nut warehouse located on the banks of the Çay Quarter near Sarıçay was restored by Penso family in 2011 in memory of Fortüne and İsak Kumru.
