LIMBO

LIMBO is the longest-standing artist studio complex and project space in Margate; set up in 2003, on the site of an electricity substation, just off Margate’s high street and a mere stone’s throw from the sea (more on the building’s history…)

Established long before Turner Contemporary arrived in town, LIMBO is one of the few arts organisations in Margate that is run both independent of public funding bodies, and by and for the artists who work there.

LIMBO was set-up to create a resource supporting cultural development and experimentation in Thanet and beyond; providing affordable artist studios and a project space with a programme of exhibitions, artist residencies, events and off-site projects.
