Hgtomi Rosa

Hgtomi Rosa is a new artist initiative established in September 2019 in The Hague. It is both a studio space and a project and exhibition space, in which public showing and the making process are inseparable. Hgtomi Rosa is an arena. Within its framework the participants are constantly involved in the development of their individual practices as well as a greater entity. We share an aim, an intention to show, which is mediated by participants in the arena who create what is possible and impossible.

We are concerned with the different dynamics that come into play when we show ‘something to someone’. We want to ask questions that relate to the where, when, why and for whom these situations exist. Showing is our innate motive and area of exploration, with a focus on approaching our (or any other) space as both space for working/process and presentation. We want to challenge our conceptions and assumptions every time we do it.
