Challenging the convention of a traditional art gallery, DUDSPACE was the antithesis of the white cube. DUDSPACE was a non-for-profit contemporary art gallery in operation between 2012–2014, aimed at presenting critically engaged exhibitions. The site itself was literally an awkward back corner, a place seen unsuitable for exhibition. Although located within the KINGS ARI site, DUDSPACE was an independent gallery offering artists, collectives and curators an opportunity to expand their practice within an unconventional arena.
Thanks to all of the artists, curators, writers, friends and visitors who made this project truly DUD x
