Display – Association for Research and Collective Practice is a platform active in the wider field of contemporary art. We are interested in how through artistic and other research practices we can contribute to the understanding of the complexities of the world, the actions of actors in it and their interactions. We see ourselves as researchers and organizers, and our desire is to look for alternatives to social coexistence and cooperation. Faced with global processes and unexpected social shifts that visibly or secretly change the conditions of human lives and their relationships, we feel it is necessary to start looking for new forms of activities and communication.
Display was established in 2001 by David Kulhánek, Ondřej Chrobák, Tomáš Svoboda and Zbyněk Baladrán as a space for contemporary art. Between 2007-2017 we continued as a tranzitdisplay contemporary art initiative, curated by Vít Havránek and Zbyněk Baladrán. You can find our past activities at www.tranzitdisplay.cz. Since 2016, we have organized our activities under the label of Display – association for research and collective practice.
