Base / Projects for art is an idea of artists for other artists. Base is a unique place for the practice of art in Italy. The activity, started in 1998, is curated by a collective of artists who live and work in Tuscany and who promote, in Florence, some of the most interesting aspects of the art of today. Base is a dialogue on contemporaneity open to international comparison.

Base proposes itself as an open space for the knowledge of the most significant aspects of today’s Italian and international art, in a dialectic of signs and languages that contributes to keeping open a comparison of ideas on contemporaneity. Base is promoted by an open group of artists who take turns in running the business and aims to involve, in a form of active participation and support, a growing number of artists, scholars, collectors, friends. Base therefore proposes itself as a necessary place for the exchange of experiences and information that are part of a common heritage to which everyone can draw. Base presents exhibitions, projects, comparisons and dialogues, proposing different readings and perspectives on what is most interesting in art and its neighboring territories. Currently they are part of the Base collective: Mario Airò, Marco Bagnoli, Massimo Bartolini, Vittorio Cavallini, Yuki Ichihashi, Paolo Masi, Massimo Nannucci, Maurizio Nannucci, Paolo Parisi, Remo Salvadori, Enrico Vezzi.
