Base / Projects for art is an idea of ​​artists for other artists. Base is a unique place for the practice of art in Italy. The activity, started in 1998, is curated by a collective of artists who live and work in Tuscany and who promote, in Florence, some of the most interesting aspects of the art of today. Base is a dialogue on contemporaneity open to international comparison.

Base proposes itself as an open space for the knowledge of the most significant aspects of today’s Italian and international art, in a dialectic of signs and languages ​​that contributes to keeping open a comparison of ideas on contemporaneity. Base is promoted by an open group of artists who take turns in running the business and aims to involve, in a form of active participation and support, a growing number of artists, scholars, collectors, friends. Base therefore proposes itself as a necessary place for the exchange of experiences and information that are part of a common heritage to which everyone can draw. Base presents exhibitions, projects, comparisons and dialogues, proposing different readings and perspectives on what is most interesting in art and its neighboring territories.
