Atelierhaus Mengerzeile

The Mengerzeile Artists’ Studios were founded in 1993. Three years ago at the 20th anniversary, their lease had not been renewed and the artists were facing eviction, until one of the new owners offered them another chance. In the old piano factory, directly on the former Treptow-Neukölln Sector border, a group of fine artists had found a home shortly after the Wall came down. There was even an internationally established guest studio, which offered colleagues from other countries a residency in Berlin.
